Inmotive is the Canada-based inventor of the Ingear transmission, an ultra-efficient multi-speed powertrain technology for a wide range of applications. Ingear extends its electric-vehicle range at a very low additional cost and weight. Its highly reliable design increases torque, acceleration, gradeability and top speed and is protected with 18 patents issued and 40 patents pending. Inmotive is headquartered in Toronto, operates a WFOE in China, and has sales offices in Germany and Japan.
Product Information
Ingear is a clutch-less transmission that works with a unique morphin-sprocket design where segments of the sprocket slide in sequence to achieve gear shifts. It is low-cost, smooth, quiet and extremely efficient, which makes it the best transmission for any application that uses an electric motor, such as electric vehicles, commercial applications, wind turbines, etc. Inmotive is currently focused on passenger-electric vehicles and targeting OEM, Tier 1, Tier 2 and other suppliers to achieve more efficient, faster, lower-cost powertrains and accelerate the global evolution to affordable zero-emission mobility and play an important role in mitigating climate change.
