Profile
Cohesys is a Toronto-based medical device manufacturer that has developed BoneTape, a resorbable tape for bone fracture fixation. Current fracture fixation systems require drilling into healthy bone, profiling of plates and fixating these plates with screws or pins. BoneTape has a 10x speed advantage over the current resorbable plate system while providing the same mechanical stability and performance over time. The initial indications target craniomaxillofacial and cranial fractures, where the device market size is over $5B/year for incumbent plate and screw hardware.
