Hatch is predominantly an EPCM contractor in the metals, infrastructure and energy sectors. Within metals, it assists clients in maturing their designs from test work concepts to fully operational commercial facilities. It specializes in the design of plants for countless commodities, including battery material and battery cell manufacturing. Hatch also provides environmental, advisory, digital services and technology development support. Its projects range from less than $1 million to $6 billion in size. It has large procurement and construction management groups and can effectively manage projects on behalf of clients.

Hatch is the largest consultant in the metals space, and likely the only consultant that offers process design and full EPCM services to the entire lithium-ion battery value chain (mining, raw material processing, electrode materials manufacturing, battery cell manufacturing and battery recycling).
