ABT Insulpanel Limited (ABT) manufactures machines that produce Compressed Agricultural Fibre (CAF) panels, a low-cost alternative load-bearing construction material made from agricultural waste straw. The panels are combined with steel channel, bolts and other materials to construct permanent buildings. ABT forms joint ventures (JV) in developing countries with low-cost housing needs and to source all raw materials and labour within those countries. The local JV would purchase fibre waste such as wheat straw from farmers who would otherwise dispose of it, thereby turning excess waste into an additional cash crop.
