FluidAI works with world-renowned institutions and surgeons in Canada and the United States to develop and commercialize hardware and software solutions that provide real-time insights into surgical site healing and patient recovery following general, colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric and esophageal surgeries.
Product / Service Information
Its flagship product is an anastomotic leak monitoring solution—composed of FluidAI’s Origin device and Stream data analytics platform—which continuously monitors postoperative surgical drainage to detect anastomotic leaks (AL) in under 40h post-operatively (according to FluidAI’s latest clinical trial data). The Origin device is used at the patient’s bedside during recovery, monitors patients 24/7 in real-time and provides an alert to the care team when a potential leak is detected. The device is simple to use, with only one button required to operate it, and FluidAI’s Stream data platform provides an easy-to-use interface to see trends in the patient’s recovery process. The device is currently used by colorectal, bariatric and hepatobiliary surgeons.
Objectives at Medical Japan Tokyo 2022
FluidAI’s goal for this trade mission is to meet with Japanese distribution companies, government and regulatory representatives and other key players in the health care market with the intention of receiving regulatory approval for and exporting its device to the Japanese market.
